Chocolate, anyone?

I made these chocolates at the november meeting in our local dollhouse club. This year I am going to try making real chocolates for christmas. I have never done that before, but I think it`s going to be fun, messy and sweet!

Christmas Shop

I decided that my Christmas Shop needed a make-over before christmas. This is what it used to look like, very messy!

And this is what it looks like now! I painted the walls, stained the floor, painted the shelf, and removed the stickers on the walls. The christmas tree has working lights, and I am planning to make lots of ornaments for it! And I need some gifts under the tree.

I am not completely done with the outside. The shop needs a name, and I have an open/closed sign that I am going to hang on the door.

I love these tiny wooden ornaments. I bougth them at The Kensington Dollhouse Festival, 2008 Christmas fair.

Hair, there and everywhere!

The lady of the house finally got some hair on her head. She`s been waiting to be wigged for ages now! You can`t tell by the picture, but her hair is long, almost to her waist. Wigging a doll looks so easy in the tutorials, no one ever told me that there would be a mess of hair and glue everywhere... After a couple of attempts, I was pleased with the result. The doll is a kit that I bought from Marcia Backstrom. I painted her, assembled the body and dressed her. I made the skirt, and the sweater is made by Solveig Marie.

Christmas on the doorstep

Not long `till December now! Today I went shopping for some mini-trees and moss, so one of these days I`ll make some christmas trees. But I have already begun making some christmas minis this year, like this paper basket.

Southwestern style bed

I made this bed for Marie for an All Things Mini MAKE. I made it for her Southwest Bungalow, hope it fits in nicely! :-) Usually I am not a very patient person, so making these quilts, handsewing one by one square before sewing them together, is really out of character for me. This is the third quilt I have made, and the biggest one so far. But what I do like about making them is that it`s so easy to work on them anywhere. I have been sewing at family gatherings, visiting friends, watching a movie, and even during a lecture at the University! Love multi-tasking! :-D

Warm slippers

These will keep Grandpa`s feet warm this winter. They are made from felt, with a thin leather sole.

La Belle Vie, part 2

These days I have worked on the interior shop. I made this tiny paper bird and a "tree" to hang it on. I`m going to make more of those birds. I have also added mouldings and baseboards to the house.

I found these frames in a scrapbook store, and the pictures are cut-outs from a full-size interior magazine.

Summertime

Last year I joined a MAKE at http://www.allthingsmini.com/ . The theme was "Lazy summer days", and Christina Pardy, http://dragonscaleminis.com/ , made such a wonderful creation for me! She asked me to tell her what summer meant to me, and this is one of the pictures I sent her...

This is what she made for me! Isn`t it fantastic? The brick wall is the terrace by my grandparents` summerhouse. When my grandmother was younger and at better health, she used to take good care of the flower here, but for many years this patch was just grass and weed, until one summer some years ago.... My sister and I removed all the weeds and planted new seeds, and this is what it looked like by the end of the summer. My grandmother was so happy to see that it had returned to its former glory!

My dolls by Cathrine Muniere

I just love Cathrine Muniere`s dolls! My husband bought me the little boy for my 25th birthday, and I bought the girl at the 2008 Kensington Dollhouse Festival. I think they have such adorable expressions on their faces!

Kitchen side table

I made this table and filled it with miniatures from Country Treasures, Christel Jensen, Angie Scarr and more. Not long ago I bought a Proxxon table saw that is just perfect for making miniature furniture.
